Statues for Baia Station
Memory.
Technology.
Rebirth.
Mediterranea Design contributed to the artistic redevelopment of Baia Station, part of the EAV line connecting Naples to the Phlegraean Fields, creating a dialogue between ancient heritage and contemporary innovation. Through advanced 3D scanning and additive manufacturing, a series of life-size statues was produced, inspired by artworks from the Baia archaeological area, now preserved at MANN — from the Dioscuri and Aphrodite Sosandra to imperial busts and the Head of Apollo.
Heritage.
Innovation.
Experience.
The digital process — from high-precision scanning to 3D printing and manual finishing — enabled a faithful reconstruction of the depth and texture of ancient marble. First presented at Expo 2025 Osaka, the works are now permanently installed in the station, transforming a transit space into an immersive cultural experience where past and future converge.
